TURBOSTARTERS
(International)
For launching fighter aircraft on makeshift runways, without the assistance of ground crews, the turbine engine is ideal. A small electric motor powered by the aircraft's battery launches a small turbine that consumes the same fuel as the aircraft, capable of generating power exceeding 150/200 hp, depending on the model and manufacturer. A "cascade" process. It was the successor to the similar TS-20.
-Several turbines of this type have already appeared in the corresponding chapters by brand (see the Noelle, for example). However, there is one important one manufactured in Russia for the MiG's R-35 engines, the small TS-21, with 200 hp and 250 hp at maximum peak, interesting for its design. But its manufacturer is unknown.
